Last night, [a TD'er] asked for verses regarding capital punishment. In case others of you wanted them too, here are some for starters:

Gen. 9:6, Ex. 21:12-14, Lev. 24:17, Num. 35:33, Matt. 26:52, Rev. 13:10

Remember that God's first and foremost reason for the establishment of government is the preservation and protection of human life. While on the surface, capital punishment may seem to violate this, by administering justice to the perpetrators of murder, it actually is protecting "innocent" (in the earthly sense) human life.
